This is a concept ad for an AIRHEADS® pendant and silver chain.
The ad takes inspiration from late-night, earworm, Adult Swim-style adverts. The type of commercial that you hear from the TV, over and over as you try to sleep, eventually driving you mad enough to wake up and change the channel.

The project began with seeking out the logo online. I struggled to find one in high enough quality, so I ended up essentially redrawing it in After Effects using solids and masking around the original.
Next I used an online tool to vectorize the image, which gave me an .svg file that can be imported into Blender as curves. I turned the curves into meshes and further modeled the surfaces of the pendant, applying textures as I modeled.
The necklace employs a softbody simulation on a simple proxy mesh, with the mass set to be heaviest in the front. The detailed chain and pendant then follow along using a Surface Deform modifier and some vertex parenting. The inflation of the pendant has no real effect on the simulation.

After rendering, I noticed some clipping in the earliest frames. I was otherwise satisfied with the chain simulation, so I opted to re-render those frames without the chain and comp the new frames overtop the original.
Audio was created in FL Studio using custom foley and sounds sourced from online libraries.
